The Archdiocese of Catania will celebrate the Solemnity of Saint Rita at the Shrine of Saint Rita in Sant’Agostino (Via Vittorio Emanuele II, 310 – Catania).
The celebrations will take place on Thursday 22nd May, with the church opening at 6.00 am, the exposition of the statue, and moments dedicated to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Throughout the day, Holy Masses will be celebrated, culminating at 11.00 am in the Pontifical Mass presided over by His Excellency Archbishop Luigi Renna, Archbishop of Catania. At the end of each celebration, the traditional blessing of the roses will take place.
The Octave of the Feast will be observed on Thursday 29th May, with further celebrations and the blessing of the roses.
This is an occasion of deep significance for the local community, marked by devotion to Saint Rita.
